UPDATE FROM YOUR LOCAL COUNCILLOR

5/10/2020

Good morning, I have now received today’s figures which now include the unreported cases as announced on national media, which apparently go back over the last ten days and are consequently not encouraging and not in line with my update provided on 2 October.  To provide some context to these new figures I have included today’s number as a comparison to those numbers provided on 25th September.

The number of cases therefore reported as of 10am this morning across the county are now 3637 up from 3250 on 25 September and in Stratford on Avon District these are 700 up from 628 on 25 September – ie 72 new cases.

The situation regarding the 423 SWFT Hospital Beds remains the same as does all the other stats provided on Friday, which means there are five confirmed cases of COVID-19 at present and NO patients are in the intensive care unit.  The cumulative deaths across Stratford District remains at 168 with the deaths in care home remaining at 82 from a cumulative of 1164 ‘all cause deaths’ in the district. The cumulative total of all COVID-19 deaths in Warwickshire has increased by one to 601 in the last week and over the same period there have been 3988 non COVID-19 related deaths in Warwickshire.  Across the county there has been a total of 212 COVID-19 deaths in care homes settings (no increase in the last week) compared to 1323 ‘all cause deaths’ in care homes over the same period.

There are 53% of SWFT hospital beds occupied by Non-COVID-19 patients, 1% occupied with confirmed COVID-19 patients and 14% beds occupied with suspected COVID-19 patients and a spare capacity of 32% beds.

Extreme vigilance is therefore required.  Take care and lets keep our communities safe.

Kind regards
Anne
